The French channel France O showed the beauty of southwestern Madagascar through a documentary on world street art. The show was broadcast last October 28, allowing the French public to discover the assets of this locality of the big island. To make the report, the channel France O has appealed to famous street artists around the world and some piroguiers artists of the country Vezo.
Entitled "Graffiti in the sails", this report is produced by Sami Chalak in the heart of Vezo country. The director was accompanied by world-famous street artists eager to discover the authenticity of the tourist sites located in this part of the island. Some Malagasy street artists came to welcome these visitors from far away. Together, they traveled the typical places of the region like the Salary and the natural landscapes of Andavadaoka.
Andavadaoka and Salary seduced graffiti artists with their unique paradise setting. They could admire the turquoise sea and sandy beaches less frequented by tourists. The best diving and kitesurf spots have also been visited by these foreigners. Their objective was to be able to appreciate this nature in order to reproduce them on their graffiti.
When the time came, graffiti artists present on the spot decorated some forty sails with their own graffiti. The whole village was then surprised to see a splendid decorated regatta, sailing on the beautiful lagoon of the country Vezo. The inspiration of the artists came from their stay with the fishermen Vezo. They did not hesitate to put themselves in the shoes of true piroguiers to embellish the entire regatta.
Note that Malagasy boatmen are also professional street artists. They shared their expertise with Reunionese, Spanish and Italian street artists, including Jace, Aryz, Bo130, Boogie, Cartone, Kid Kreol, Microbo, Psy 156 and Seth. The three weeks of stay were beneficial for both Malagasy and foreign graffiti artists.
